Courses & Training STOP THE BLEED The R7DHRE proudly hosts STOP THE BLEED training courses, free of charge. The purpose of the STOP THE BLEED program is to train community members on how to stop bleeding in a severely injured person. DMEP The Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness Course (DMEP) is a one-day course that is both didactic and interactive. This course teaches planning methods, preparedness, and medical management of trauma patients in mass casualty disaster situations. Through lecture and interactive scenarios, health care providers learn incident command terminology, principles of disaster triage, injury patterns and availability of assets for support. Community Readiness The R7DHRE provides Community Readiness training that is designed to educate the public about the important role it plays in providing life-saving interventions prior to the arrival of emergency services. AHLS The Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) Provider Course is the premier, international course that teaches a systematic response for the medical management of patients exposed to hazardous materials, including chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear agents. The 16 hour, two-day AHLS Provider Course is the most comprehensive training program, teaching the critical skills needed to evaluate and treat victims exposed to chemical spills, toxic terrorism, and other threats. FCCS: Crisis management The Fundamental Critical Care Support: Crisis Management course provides healthcare professionals the knowledge needed to sustain patient care in both natural and intentional disasters. Core principles include disaster preparation, the role of the hospital in disaster response, augmentation of ICU capacity, tertiary triage and palliative care considerations, special patient populations, personal protective equipment, infectious disease outbreaks, chemical and radiologic exposures, mass shootings, blast and burn incidents, and natural disasters.
